Comments
Anesthestized with Iso/O2 via mask. HR/RR monitored throughout, maintained at 3%, no complications.

VD, H-view, and Lat images of thoracic girdle obtained. Images show some callus formation at site of coracoid fracture - the small bone fragments caudal to the distal fracture segment appear to have formed callus to each other and toward the fracture site. There is a very faint amount of bridging visible between the distal segment and the proximal segment still attached to the keel. There remains significant caudal displacement at the fracture site. The clavicles appear irregular with a possible fracture line visible just distal to midline on the lateral view. Alignment is adequate.

Mild relative heterophilia likely stress related, however there are 2+ toxic heterophils most consistent with massive inflammation from trauma. The skin wound has fully healed and there are no other signs of infection and no total leukocytosis. Will discontinue SMZ for now and monitor patient.

On physical exam we noted stringy saliva in the mouth, and the ulnar vein appeared to have poor profusion. We also noted poor jugular fill and that the patient was approxitley 7% dehydrated. We ran a PCV and total solids which came back a PCV of 39% and TS of 6.4. We also estimated a 1% buffy coat.We decided to give a 50 mL fluid bolus in the right stifle due to the severe hypovolemia we appreciated on physical exam.

VD View: Significant asymmetry and lucnecy (proximal) were observed along the right coracoid, just cranial to the keel.
The findings were notable for abnormal gas patterns, suggesting a possible injury or infection. There is a possible moderately displaced fracture of the distal left scapula that is not visible on the H view.

H-View: A fracture/luxation of the right coracoid was observed. The fracture was transverse, possibly along the junction of the proximal coracoid and keel and ventrally displaced. The asymmetry and gas observed on the VD view corresponded to the findings seen on the H-View, further confirming the presence of a significant injury to the right coracoid.

Lateral View: Fracture of the coracoids were noted bilaterally, with associated small fracture fragments. Both fractures are located just proximal to the keel and are displaced both caudally and dorsally when compared to the keel's position. The right coracoid fracture was consistent with the findings on the VD and H-View. Lucencies noted within the intestines as well as decrease opacity of the GI tract overall.
